Barcelona teenage forward Lamine Yamal has been hailed by Daniel Parejo as having a more all-round impact than Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe.
Villarreal midfielder Daniel Parejo has compared Real Madrid’s French forward Kylian Mbappe to Barcelona teenage forward Lamine Yamal, with the Blaugrana youngster having a bigger impact on the team than the Los Blancos striker, Cadena Ser reported on Tuesday.
‘Mbappe doesn’t surprise me with what he’s done. Even with the number of goals he’s score. Which is incredible, but I think Lamine’s 20 goals, which is less, has a big impact on the team.’
‘Goals bring you money, trophies and titles, but in my opinion, playing football is one thing. Of course you have to have him (Mbappe) but you have to do more,’ Parejo said.
The 36-year-old midfielder added of Yamal: ‘He’s one of those kids who’s been touche by a magic wand. He’s a special kid who has something that other people don’t have, which is understanding the game. It’s amazing that at 17, he understands the game the way he does.’
Parejo also spoke about Barcelona’s success this season, saying: ‘They are the best team in every aspect, for their agility, for their strength and for their style of play.’
The Villarreal midfielder also admitted that Barcelona’s high defensive line surprised him. ‘I don’t agree with the way they play defensively, but Barca surprised me.’
