Manchester City captain Kevin De Bruyne has spoken out after playing in front of the Citizens’ fans at the Etihad Stadium for the final time before concluding his 10-year spell with the club.

“It’s a bit strange, it’s incredible to have had 10 years here, it’s been an incredible journey and it’s been a pleasure,” the 33-year-old said after the game.

“I want to give people fun, I want to play attacking, creative football. That’s what I am on the pitch, and I want to have fun too.”

“I think we’ve had a lot of fun over the last 10 years, some wins and some losses, but I’m happy to have worked hard and built something for this club that has made it a lot better. I’m very proud.”

“I think life and career is like a journey. There are a lot of ups and downs. You have to go through those moments and enjoy them. I really enjoyed every moment and learned from the bad moments. It was great.”

Meanwhile, Man City still have the final game of the season to play at Fulham on Sunday 25 May.
